Gas Station food Review
Have you ever walked into a gas station on the go and wondered what am I going to eat here that is remotely healthy?
If you travel, then you probably have. I got news for all you travelers. There are healthy options out there! Yay!
The good news is that most of these items won't break the bank either.
Here's my list:
Snacks
- Beef Jerky- Yes to protein and low carbs! Pick up your favorite brand. I like Scotty's of course some brands are a little pricy.
- Boiled Eggs- Usually in the cooler with salads and sandwiches these are a protein packed treat!
- String cheese- Nutritious dairy in a small slender package.
- Protein Bars- I like cliff bars, but most of these are low on carbs and high on energy and protein.
Drinks
- Diet Soda- When you want the bubbly without the calories, Diet Mt. Dew is my favorite.
- Calorie Free Energy Drinks- Need a boost? Monster, Bang, or Rockstar all have tasty options.
- Protein Drinks- My personal favorite is Fair Life.
- Sugar Free teas- Snapple has some diet flavors I enjoy like peach, there are a number of others that have a delicious flavor.
Meals (not a whole lot of options here)
- salads- Ceasar, garden, chicken salads all available at Maverick & some 7 Elevens.
- wraps- Chicken wraps are great however if your avoiding carbs the tortilla is not as healthy an option.
- Sandwiches- Wheat bread with turkey is a great option, there are others that are low in calories, you would have to read the labels if you are looking for low carb.
So there you have it folks. I know this list is far from complete and as I stated earlier these are just a few healthy options I have grabbed on the go while traveling. I would be happy to hear any other options you might have in the comments😉
